Banana Malpuas

Malpua is a very tasty and sinful North Indian sweet dish. It is very rich and delicate sweet. These malpuas are usually prepared in North during the festival of Teej as an offering to God .
They are either made of sweetened maida and deep fried or they are deep fried first and then dipped in sugar syrum. Either way they are heavenly ..........

I have however made some changes to suit my needs and make it more healthy. I have used wheat flour instead of maida , added bananas to the batter and hence used very less sugar. Also to avoid deep frying I have shallow fried them on a non-stick pan. The result was almost same if not exact to the deep fried variety.

So let's enjoy this guilt free treat.

Ingredients :

Two cups....................wheat flour

3 ............................ripe bananas
4 tbsp....................sugar
1 cup.....................milk
1 tsp..................cardamom powder
ghee

Method :

Make a batter of wheat flour, smashed ripe bananas , sugar, milk and cardamom powder.

The batter should be thicker than bhajia batter, so adjust the milk accordingly.
Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
Heat a non stick pan and smear it with ghee.
Spread the batter on the pan with your hands to form small thick pancaked.
When one side becomes golden brown turn the side and let the other side cook.
Remove and serve.
